At Last, Mourinho Sacked As Chelsea Coach

Reports from the United Kingdom said  Jose Mourinho has been sacked from his position as the Coach of Chelsea.
There were reports since Tuesday that the  Chelsea board had been meeting  to decide the coach’s fate and to also consider a new replacement.
Mourinho’s ouster however did not come as a surprise given the poor results  recorded by the EPL  defending champions so far.
It was actually a surprise that despite the poor run of results,  the club declared confidence in the coach some time ago.
Until his sack, Mourinho was on his ‘second term’ at Chelsea .He earlier left Chelsea for Inter Milan of Italy and later Real Madrid of Spain from where he returned to Chesea
Mourinho  became  well known after leading FC Porto to win the UEFA Champions league. He signed  for Chelsea afterward and  christened himself as the Special One.
Results of this season have so far  been far less heartwarming, least expected from the  Special One.
A statement by the club Thursday said “Chelsea Football Club and Jose Mourinho have today parted company by mutual consent. All at Chelsea thank Jose for his immense contribution since he returned as manager in the summer of 2013.

Mourinho will NOT take a break & will remain in EnglandThe Portuguese boss will continue to live in London and is looking for another managerial opportunity, indicating he is ready for another job

Jose Mourinho has revealed that he will not be taking a break from management and will continue to live in London following his dismissal as Chelsea boss on Thursday.

Following a disastrous 2015-16 so far, in which the reigning champions have slumped to nine defeats in 16 Premier League games, Blues owner Roman Abramovich acted to relieve the Portuguese coach of his duties.

And while Guus Hiddink remains the favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge on a temporary basis, Mourinho, in a statement released by his Los Angeles based agents CAA, has indicated that he is "not tired" and will not be taking an extended break from football management.

“He will not be taking a sabbatical, he isn’t tired, he doesn’t need it, he is very positive, and is already looking forward," the statement read.
Revealing plans for his immediate future, the statement indicated that Mourinho will continue to live in London and will be seen attending games, though the Portuguese will stay away from high profile contests in order to dampen any speculation.

There were surprises at the residence of Governor Abiola Ajimobi yesterday as one of his arch political rivals at the April 11 poll, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala appeared and congratulated him on his victory at the Appeal Court. Akala came third in the election and has distanced himself from any petition against the winner, Governor Ajimobi. On his congratulatory visit to Governor Ajimobi at his residence, Akala who was beaming an inviting smile said; “I am here to rejoice with my brother for the judgment of today. We already knew what the outcome would be; we had expected what we got today. So we are rejoicing. On his possible defection to APC, Alao-Akala said “It has been on; we are still crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s. I am on my way to APC.”

It’s too early to judge Buhari — Mudiaga-Odje

Warri based constitutional lawyer, Dr Akpo Mudiaga-Odje in this interview bares his mind on the APC led government insisting that it may be too early to assess the Buhari administration. Excerpts:
By Festus Ahon
What is your assessment of the President Buhari’s led administration?
Even though, it may be too early for a holistic appraisal, nevertheless it points towards a government that would be responsible to the people’s yearnings and aspirations.
Indeed, we are passing through very difficult times in terms of insecurity, economic challenges, including scarcity of petroleum products. It will surely take time to heal these wounds inflicted on our dear nation by previous administrations.
What is your take on Buhari’s appointment of himself as petroleum minister?
In retrospect, we challenged the erstwhile President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR when he appointed himself as the Minister of Petroleum. We challenged it up to the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
Interestingly, whilst we were at the Court of Appeal, and due to the pressure brought upon him by the case and the people, Chief Obasanjo promptly appointed Prof. Edmund Daukoru now a Royal Majesty in Bayelsa State, as a Minister of State for Petroleum. That case has now been reported as Austin Ayowe & Ors. Vs. The President & Ors. (2006) All FWLR (PT. 334) 1967
Dr Akpo Mudiaga-Odje
Dr Akpo Mudiaga-Odje
Though we lost on grounds of locus standi, the pressure arising from the legal action prevailed on OBJ to do the needful.
On the President Buhari scenario, he has appointed a Minister for Petroleum, be it a Minister of State or not, because he is recognised under the Petroleum Act and Section 147 of the 1999 Constitution of the FRN (as amended).
Under Section 5 of the Constitution, General Buhari has a right and duty to supervise his Ministries and by extension control and manage the Ministry, provided however, that he has a Minister duly appointed at all material times relating thereto.
Looking at the crop of Ministers he has appointed, do you see any good prospect for Nigeria under Buhari’s government?
Relatively speaking, I do believe that from the background of some of the ministers, its very apparent and real that they will impact positively in the administration of the Nation.
It has a blend of old hands and new technocrats which is good for us. However, it may be too early to give an informed assessment of them since, they just started work.
Again, the Urhobos have no minister in the Federal Government?
It’s very sad if not frightening that the Urhobo Nation which produces economic wealth no matter how small to the Federation Account, cannot have a Minister to partake in the Federal Executive Council as to how the commonwealth of the Nation is shared.
In terms of population, we are the fifth largest in Nigeria, we host oil and gas flow stations including the Otorogun Gas Plant.
We have a reservoir of eminent, cerebral and proficient professionals, politicians and      scholars per excellence both here and in the Diaspora.
Accordingly, I urge Mr. President to do the needful timeously by appointing a Minister from any of our eminent sons and daugthers of Urhobo Nation.
It is in the light of the above, that I commend the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, for his wisdom and magnanimity in appointing many qualified persons of Urhobo extraction into his Administration. It is very commendable and encouraging.
Don’t you see it as a ploy to undermine the Urhobo Nation which is the 6th if not 5th largest ethnic group in the country?
Yes indeed if an ethnic Nationality that is qualified to have a slot as a Minister in Nigeria and its not given that slot, surely it will undermine that ethnic group. A point of reference is Section 55 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) which provides that:
“The business of the National Assembly shall be conducted in English, Hausa, Ibo and Yoruba…”
This section does not recongise my Urhobo language, yet my village, Evwrein in Ughelli North hosts a flow Station which produces over eleven thousand barrels of crude oil to the Nigeria State.
My oil and gas resources are a blessing to Nigeria, whilst my language is an abomination in the National Assembly.
The National Assembly was built from our resources. The Constitution was also printed with our resources. Yet my language cannot be spoken in the National Assembly.
Be that as it may, we the Urhobo people must now come together in our collective history to unite and speak with one voice! A house divided against itself cannot stand!
As long as we remain disunited, our fighting and staying power becomes weaker and weaker by the day.
So in as much as we are justifiably agitating for representation at the federal level, we must close ranks because when Mr. President decides to give us a ministerial slot, we must be prepared to speak and choose one person with one voice!
It is on this note, that I advise the Urhobo Nation to start to reach out to our brothers from other minority ethnic groups, such as the Itsekiris, Ijaws, Ibibios, Aniomas, Isokos, and others, to forge a common front with us as we agitate for both political and economic relevance.
What is your reaction to the emergence of a new Olu of Warri?
Firstly, we share in the mourning with the Itsekiri nation of the departed Ogiame Atuwatse II; whilst at the same time we congratulate them on the nomination through overwhelming proclamation and acclamation of the entire Itsekiri nation of the new Olu of Warri.
The unity, swiftness and reverence with which the Itsekiri people selected their new king is worthy of commendation and it is shining example to all other tribes, especially the ethnic minorities, that once a tribe speaks with one voice, nothing, I say nothing can ever stop their progress and development.
Do you have faith in Buhari’s corruption crusade?
Faith in Mr. President’s corruption crusade? I think faith is too strong for me at this point in time, I think whether I have confidence in President Buhari’s corruption crusade? Yes!
For now, his body language is encouraging towards the fight against corruption, however let it not be selective.
We must commend him for his patriotic stand before and now on the fight against corruption and urge all Nigerians to support this fight for a better Nigeria.
The appointment of the proficient and well respected international scholar, teacher and lawyer, Prof. Itse Sagay SAN as the chair of the presidential Advisory Committee on corruption is a big plus for President Buhari and the fight against the incubus of corruption in Nigeria.
However, for Government to fight corruption frontally the institutions responsible for investigation, arrest and prosecution of corrupt persons must be urgently reformed, funded and made more potent in that respect.

Read statement below:
Chelsea Football Club and Jose Mourinho have today parted company by mutual consent.
All at Chelsea thank Jose for his immense contribution since he returned as manager in the summer of 2013.
His three league titles, FA Cup, Community Shield and three League Cup wins over two spells make him the most successful manager in our 110-year history. But both Jose and the board agreed results have not been good enough this season and believe it is in the best interests of both parties to go our separate ways.
The club wishes to make clear Jose leaves us on good terms and will always remain a much-loved, respected and significant figure at Chelsea. His legacy at Stamford Bridge and in England has long been guaranteed and he will always be warmly welcomed back to Stamford Bridge.
The club’s focus is now on ensuring our talented squad reaches its potential.

5 contenders for Mourinho’s job

DIEGO SIMEONE Diego Simeone took Atletico Madrid to the La Liga title in 2013-14 ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid, but perhaps could be tempted by a new challenge in England after four years at the Vicente Calderon.
Simeone
Simeone
Simeone is already familiar with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and striker Diego Costa, having managed the pair at Atletico.
It is understood a £15m release clause would have to be met by Chelsea for the 45-year-old Argentinian.
PEP GUARDIOLA
Guardiola
Guardiola
Pep Guardiola is heading for the Premier League after deciding to reject a new £280,000-a-week contract and leave Bayern Munich next summer.
The 44-year-old Spaniard is expected to take over at Manchester City, but Chelsea could now well make their move.
However, City’s dealmakers are ahead of the game and Guardiola would earn around £15m a year, which is around £2m more than what Mourinho was making at Chelsea.
JUANDE RAMOS
German and Ukrainian sources have linked Juande Ramos with the job at Chelsea with the Spaniard out of work since leaving Ukrainian club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk at the end of the 2013-14 season.
The 61-year-old Spaniard has already had one spell in the English Premier League, spending 12 months at Tottenham Hotspur from 2007 to 2008. He left the club at the bottom of the Premier League.Ramos
Ramos took up the Real Madrid job in December 2008 but lasted barely six months as the La Liga club ended the season nine points behind rivals Barcelona.
BRENDAN RODGERS
Brendan Rodgers has already spent time at Chelsea as a coach from 2004 to 2008 before leaving to become the manager of Championship club Watford.
RODGERS
RODGERS
Rogers almost took Liverpool to their first ever Premier League title in the 2013-14 season, falling just short to Manchester City.
The 42-year-old was sacked by Liverpool in October this year and, despite links with a club job in Qatar, is still looking for work.
FABIO CAPELLO
Fabio Capello threw his hat into the ring as a potential replacement for Mourinho last month. He said: ‘I am now in Russia, in Moscow. I do not miss the bench. For now I have not received anything but if something interesting comes up, why not?’

In this holiday special, here’s a pick of ‘Up For Transfer XI’ featuring the best of a long list of Premier League players whose futures are far from certain.
Victor Valdes (GK)
Club: Man Utd
Age: 33. Market value: £2m
Spain international not featured this season after falling out with Louis Van Gaal over his alleged refusal to play in Under-21 matches last season.
Linked with Newcastle, Chelsea and Turkish side Antalyaspor.
Branislav Ivanovic (RB)
Club: Chelsea
Age 31: MV: £6m
Serbian star has shown severe signs on burn out with series of catastrophic early season blunders costing Chelsea dear and contributing big time to the champions’ poor run. Could be binned.
Martin Demichelis (CD)
Club: Man City
Age: 34 MV: £2.5m
Continues to hold down first team slot.
Like everyone else at City, looks better alongside Vincent Kompany.
Should Manuel Pellegrini stay might just be worth another year.
Terry
John Terry (CD)
Club: Chelsea
Age: 35 MV: Free
Blues unlikely to ditch skipper and talisman just yet – and would he want to play for another Prem club anyway.
More likely to hit the trail to America or take lucrative deal in Middle East.
Bryan Oviedo (LB)
Club: Everton
Age: 25 MV: £2m
Injury – and the rise of starlet Brendan Gallagher – has cost the Costa Rican dear.
He’s only made 25 starts since leaving FC Copenhagen in 2012, anyway.
Looks certain to be shown the door.
Adam Johnson (RW) Club: Sunderland
Age: 28 MV: £6.5m
Still facing trial on suspicion of having sexual activity with an underage girl so future uncertain.
Exciting winger who will certainly might find favour elsewhere if he’s available to play.
Stephane Sessegnon (AMF)
Club: WBA
Age: 31 MV: £2.5m
Only eight starts for the Benin international this term, but his attacking intent and effectiveness off the bench means he will be in demand if WBA turf him out.
Michael-Carrick
Michael-Carrick
Michael Carrick (MF)
Club: Man Utd
Age: 34 MV: Free
Might be the end of the road for the stylish midfielder if Louis Van Gaal wields the axe on the Old Trafford old timers. But could still do a great job elsewhere at Prem level.
Mikel Arteta (DMF)
Club: Arsenal
Age 33 MV: £1.5m
Failed to impress Arsenal fans when asked to fulfil holding midfield role.
A little slow and unlikely to be retained as Arsene Wenger seeks to unload a surfeit of midfield talent.
Steven Pienaar (LW)
Age: 33 MV: £1.5
Great club servant but writing on the wall.
Only 11 games last season, a serious hamstring injury and no appearances this time around. Taxi for Pienaar
Steven-Fletcher
Steven-Fletcher
Steven Fletcher (S)
Club: Sunderland
Age: 28. MV: £5m
Eight goals this season – but three of them for Scotland v Gibraltar.
Operating first at Wolves, and now Sunderland, in struggling teams means he’s never been the prolific force he should be. Will get a decent club, though.

Pastor Adeboye, who shared his experience with the audience on how he was privileged to confirm that Mama was resting in heaven, explained that he had a personal encounter with her two weeks before her death.
He said: “Before Mama passed on, she was making a request and I was contacted. I won’t go into details about the request but I was abroad and when I came back I saw her and we had a little discussion before she passed away. As a result of that I have no doubt that Mama is resting with the Lord.”

How safe is your data?

data-digitaStudies have also found that the amount spent on cyber security by governments and corporate organizations is increasing by 10 percent every year.

YOU might think that you have nothing to worry about when it comes to cyber security. But you are probably wrong. According to a recent survey, 95 percent of networks have been breached. 66 percent of those are not even aware of the network breach.
It isn’t enough to gape in disbelief. Here are some measures you put in place to ensure a safer network for your organization or business.
Look to the cloud <!–more–>
Clouds have privacy and security controls to ensure that only the people you want to access your data are able to. Moving components onto third-party clouds could actually provide added resilience against events such as local power loss at sites.
Many clouds are backed up at multiple locations, meaning that if one of the provider’s servers goes down your data will still be available from somewhere else.
Be sure to use a reliable service provider with good history. also, let your provider know what data you would like deleted after a certain period of time.
Fortify hardware and software
It pays to have reliable anti-virus software on your organisation’s computers. Go a step further in updating your anti-virus and other software regularly.
You should also be careful about the kind of software you install on your computer so that you don’t open up the door for malware and other malicious activities. Also, work with your IT team to ensure that your hardware is secure as well.
Back up regularly
Imagine what would happen if you lost all your data? Keep that imagination in mind until you have backed up your data in multiple secure locations. Don’t procrastinate, do it now, and do it often.
Train your staff
It won’t do you any good if you’re the only one who cares about securing your network. Get experts to train your staff often on habits they need to imbibe to ensure cyber security.
Money, money, money
Don’t always go for the cheap stuff. Speak with your CTO or head of IT on how to make reasonable investments to secure your network. Sometimes a trusted third party company who has data security as its core might be a better option for you. Weigh all your options before making a decision.

How I sold over 500 items on OLX—Oriowo

Online is the  convenient way to do business. Many people will testify of the capacity of online ads to provide access to customers at a cheaper quicker, rate. One of such is Mr. Femi Oriowo, a business developer and an avid OLX user who says he has not only sold over 500 items on the platform but also secured his current job through OLX.
“I heard about OLX on the radio in late 2013,” Oriowo told Glamtech, “I have been using the platform since then. It has been such a wonderful experience;  I have been able to sell over 500 items including phones and electronics on the platform.” <!–more–>
The catch for him is the speed at which he gets things sold on the platform.  “The fact that there are no middle men involved allows me to increase my profit margin considerably,” he added. Oriowo said the platform also gave him the right networking opportunities to move his career forward.  His words: “Earlier this year, I met someone who bought a laptop from me, we later became friends and now I am the Business Developer Manager in his company, the opportunities with OLX are endless.”
With the high unemployment rate amongst Nigerian youths, Oriowo believes that young people can comfortably earn a decent side-income by selling on OLX starting with little capital. He said: “It’s a good way to start-up the ladder to being self- employed and self-reliant. OLX gives you the exposure you need to get your goods sold, provides excellent user support and what’s more, it’s free. You also get to develop and hone your entrepreneurial skills.”
Doing business online is not without its challenges, one of which is the issue of security, but Oriowo believes the company is doing its best to ensure that transactions on its platform are becoming more and more secure. “OLX, like every other online marketplace has had its share of invasion from unscrupulous elements called scammers; but with the safety measures recently being implemented, scamming on OLX is sure to become a thing of the past,” he concluded.

Vanguard gathered that the dogs, owned by a Navy Captain, were being taken out to ease themselves at a nearby uncompleted building, when they saw Akpomose and pounced on him.
The matter was reported at Ogombo Police Division, which referred Akpomose to the General Hospital at Akodo, for immediate treatment due to the severity of his injuries.

His story
When Vanguard visited the victim in the hospital, he said: “My wife and I went to visit my in-law on Sunday. He lives at Okun Ajah Road, in Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area. Later, on Tuesday morning, I just strolled out of the compound and came across the dogs.
“As I stepped out, I saw a security man coming out with several dogs. They were very huge Alsatian dogs. I was terrified when I saw them and as I tried to go back in, they overpowered the man holding them.
“As I bent down to pick a stone and scare them away, they pounced on me and that was all I knew. They bit me in almost all parts of my body. As I screamed, some residents came out and tried to scare away the dogs with sticks.
“My screams even woke up my in-law who was asleep in the house. At a time, I became weak and unconscious and it was the people who rushed me to the hospital.”

Dogs’ owner intervenes
When Vanguard visited the residence of the dogs’ owner, the Chief Security Officer attached to the building, who identified himself simply as Victor, said: “Immediately I got back home, I explained his condition to my boss who directed me to see his family and take a decision on how to transfer the victim to his own private hospital for proper medical attention.
“We have bought all the drugs they asked us to buy. We are showing the receipt to you just to let you know that we care about the victim.”
